Q. Why do I do Music??? Deep in thought........

Someone sarcastically asked me if I like politics because in their mind they expected me to say ‘No’ in a giggly girly kind of way. They were in turn shocked that I actually said yes and then proceeded to talk about my views on Iraq, Ivory Coast and how unfortunately mans greed for power & control and our western ideology and laws have caused many wars and divisions. As someone who has converted to a faith that believes in charity and building people (Christianity) I feel that politics plays a massive part in my life as it effects everything I do, eat & drink. Although this persons view of me was very ignorant (manly because he thought I was too young and too girly to care about such issues) I’ve discovered that unfortunately there aren’t that many young people interested in Politics or maybe we’re not taught too! Maybe we’re taught to care more about celebs & material things instead :(

When I first was introduced to music it was for fun and because I enjoyed it but after certain events, debates, self-evaluation and convictions I want to use my music to deliver positive messages & make people think & be encouraged just like those musicians who have inspired me such as Jill Scott & Israel Houghton & my fellow Jamaican Bob Marley… I love soulf ul house but me love Reggae too!

WAKE UP! There is too much going on in this world for us to ignore! The government is using popular culture to brainwash and harm us therefore we cannot afford to be ignorant.

Check out my mate Adrian Mcqueen’s site  http://www.evenatthedoors.org/ very eye opening stuff

Pleassse share your thoughts with me too

My night @ Aesthetic Sounds

So last night I headed down to 'Aesthetic Sounds' after being invited by fellow music lover and close friend Sheridan Wilson.

Aesthetic Sounds have been going for 6 years and this was their 6 year anniversary! This was my first time attending and the head liners included some amazing acts such a host Sarah Fonteyne, J*DaVey and the AMAZING Jesse Boykins (I am now a fan of this guy)

I had a great time & caught up with some other great UK musicians such as Vula (Basement Jaxx) and the wonderful Miss Terri Walker. Although the sound was switched off at the start of J*DaVey's songs so they didnt get to finish their full set :( The vibe of the crowd and music was so inspiring & I'd definitely go again....this time I hope to be performing  :)

Check them out x

My fellow Jamaican Rita Marley (Bob Marleys wife) this is her Home and Studio

This sign says it all ‘One good thing about music, when it hits you you feel no pain’
(Excuse my pea head on the side lol)
I’ve been to Ghana twice already and have now been adopted by the country. I’ve fallen in love with this place & its people. Its full of soo much, culture love & life I was especially touched by the Slave Castles & very inspired by the Kwame Nkrumah & the W E B Du Bois museums. I’m definitely planning to do a show out there & aim to inspire others with good music the way they have inspired me . Watch this space x
